2012 International Summit for Urban Animal Strategies

The National Leaders Scrum has selected "Sourcing Companion Animals" as the theme of the 2012 International Summit for Urban Animal Strategies.  A better understanding of how pets arrive in each of our communities as well as the strategy to bring them "into the system" so that they are licensed, are with pro-active pet families and have a lifetime wellness plan are key elements of this discussion. 

The 2012 Urban Animal Survey will focus on:
  • benchmarking the numbers of pets arriving in our communities
  • the origin of these pets
  • the incidents and nature of problems arising out of these homing experiences
  • an understanding of whether the demand for dogs and cats in North America is expanding or relatively stable.
